Now is this 300hp at the wheels or at the crank? Are you planning to do all at once or are these incremental upgrades. Are you planning to do th work yourself or will you have a shop do it? The list below is not in any way complete as I am sure that I have missed something ( like gaskets bolts and any odds and end to bolt on everything)

Turbo Kit 2500$ (USD)
BBTM 300
Headers 400
Nitrous 529
CAI 300
s-AFC 243
new clutch 344
flywheel 400
new injectors ???
fuel pump 300 ??
Perfomance exhaust system 600$

total 5812 USD

in canadian dollars (62%) 9415$

This does not include shipping and handling duty and taxes so add another 15% for tax

this would bring it up to 10827 $

Now you need to ask yourself is this worth it. as you would void your warranty on you new 2002 car.

you would have paid about 20 k CDN for your 2002 doing this work (not including what you have already put into your car about 5k?)

so lets see

car 20 K
current mods 5k
Power mods 10.1k

Total 36.1k

Does this make any sense?????? One last thing if you are having a shop do this do not forget to add in about labour at 60/hr (CDN)

turbo 1000
nitrous 800
headers 1000
bbtm 400
s-afc 150
exhaust 300
fuel pump 150
clutch/flywheel 500

or about 4200 in labour

that would bring it up to

40.3 k

car 20k
mods 5k
power mods 10.1k
labour 4.2k

does this make any sense????????
Random, Mechanix_034, Cheuk... anyone else have any input to this????

Do you want to do it the right way or the cheap way?

The right way......
Turbo kit $3500-$4500
Pistons $600
Rods $600
Clutch $400
P & P head $1200
BIM & BTB $400-600
Stand Alone Engine Management $1500
Exhaust $400
Fuel pump $200
Bigger injectors $350
There is more but that is the biggest parts.

The cheap way...
Turbo kit $3500-4500
Pistons $350
Clutch $400
Apex-i SAFC $350
Exhaust $400
Fuel pump $200
Bigger injectors $350

Now the new XD Elantra uses a returnless fuel system so it is gonna be harder to get the fuel right without a stndalone, the Apex-i might not even work. This is the only reason mine isn't boosted right now. I'm waiting to see what is done in the Honda camp for the new Civic & RSX turbo/SC kits(they have returnless now also). All that have came out so far is standalone engine management with the kits. I am trying to avoid this right now. Also keep in mind that there are a lot of little things you have to buy like gauges, hoses and what-nots. Those prices also DO NOT include any labor. Good luck.

Thanks for all the help.

My plans are to get set-up with my body kit which will hopefully get here soon. (Hint-Hint Nudge-Nudge Shark Racing...any more news?) I'm installing my suspension this weekend on saturday and if I'm lucky my mags should also be comming in by the end of this week (tomorrow).

As for the engine I have to get the funds together to build this thing. I work at a body shop and I'm planning to do some shows with my car. The body people are really good there and they've never thought of catering to our kind of jobs.

Anyhow, if anyone wants body work done let me know and I can hook you guys up. They use this special stuff under the base coat which plastifies the metal befor they paint it. Most shops I've been to shoot base coat directly on the metal which is really bad on the rust.

Anyhow, as I was saying as soon as I can show them that the performance people are worth putting that extra effort in for hopefully they'll help sponsor my car. $10,000 seems pretty expensive for a set up but that's pretty much what I figured. I don't want to touch NOS and I heard that a supercharger might be better on my car. I got an autotragic unfortunatly as an incentive to get out of my expensive hobby but I guess that didn't work.

Anyhow, thank's very much for all the help!
