Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. These characteristics make the Hyundai Elantra a great car for those who want sports car performance with family car flexibility.

Default Torque Calculation

I Bought a Tourque Wrench the torque range is from 42 to 210 Nm = 4.3-21.4mkg.

Does any one know of the formula to calculate it to lb-ft to install the GT Camsand If anyone has the exact torque required.

Thanks

1 N-m = 0.737561 lb-ft

So 42 to 210 N-m is approximately 31 to 155 lb-ft.

Take a look at the Hyundai WebTech for information on the torques and assembly procedure. You can select either the Tiburon or Elantra(there are no docs for the 2002 elantra, use 2001), the Cam is under "Engine Mechanical System>Main Moving System>Camshaft". Torques are listed in both metric and imperial units there. smile.gif
