MSD Dis 2 is in !!!!!!!
And working properly. Havent really tried the top rev limit yet. So heres my notes to make for a smooth install on a 2001 Elantra or others.
THere is two small wires for kill switch and the staging rev limit. They are light blue and brown. Thes wires do not need to get grounded like the instructions say. They only get grounded if you want to engage the launch conrol or kill the engine. Meaning put a switch inline with the ground that can keep the ground open till you need to kill the engine or use your launch control.
The DIS 2 did not need the tach/fuel adapter either like what was earlier said by Random. I am not sure on the pre-beta engines. My guess would be no though. The only reason why the adapter would be needed is when the vehicle uses the same control wires for the coils, fuel injectors and the hmmm I forget. The way to tell this is to go to www.hmaservice.com and look at the wiring diagrams.
Install took us about 1 1/2 hrs including a 45 min trouble shoot because we had those dang blue and brown wires grounded like it say in the pictures.
I dont know whether or not the retard function works though. The only way to do that is to have diagnostics run on it while it running.
P.S. I fou decide to mount the ignition box, make sure the wires are way clear of the throttle body. I'll leave it at that.

Sports Car Club of America. They have several different divisions. I will be compeating in the Solo 2 class (Road Racing) and if they have it in Texas the Street Mod Class (New Road Racing) SCCA also has rally classes. Which is what started the Hyundai performance. They are running as far as I know 5th overall in points in the Pro Rally (off road) Circuit with the Tibby AWD class.

Hey guys. I also run Solo II here in Atlanta. I have been running for about two years now. I also have a MSD DIS-2 on my Scoupe. I loved it for about a year and a month. That is when it quit working and left me on the side of the road. It is weird how the warrenty last for a year and the product last for a year and a month. Anyways, it did make a difference in gas milage and performance. Finally, my question is for the Elantra who is running in Solo II. Why are you running in the street mod class. Unless you have a motor swap, turbo, race tires, or any major susp. mods you can run in a stock class and be more competative. The reason I run SM is because I am going to put a turbo on my Scoupe and I have ported internals. The SM class here in Atl consist of Type-R's, M3's, and Golf GTI's.
P.S. Check out the times. I run in Street Mod http://home.att.net/~soloII/061001/
