intake removal problem

Ok, here goes. While trying to do my custom cold air intake, I was able to get most of the intake system out. Only problem is this second air box that sits underneath the battery. How the HE double hocky sticks do I get that out? Seems like there is one bolt I do not see holding the dang thing in. Like to remove this box to place the cone underneath the battery and behind the fog lights. By the way I made my intake for less than $50 USD. A $25 Hiper Industries cone, 1 urothane reducer (2 1/2" - 3") $10 from a local race shop, a 10" 90 degree adjustable aluminum elbow ($4.00) from a City Mill Homeimprovement store. Seems to work pretty well. Lots of throttle response but only a few tenths off my 1/4 mile time due to the fact its still sucking hot air from the engine compartment. Havent wrapped the aluminum elbow yet either. Sounds pretty cool too if the enigne has a heavy load to it. ie.. full throttle.

There ARE 2 bolts there. The second is easier to get to from underneath.
www.hmaservice.com does not have any schematics of the intake resonators for the 2001 elantra, but here is one for the tiburon, and from what I have seen, they are fairly close.

Yeah, I remember that second bolt was hard to find. So hard to find that I actually ripped the lower resonator off the bracket and then was like, "oh, oops."
then that second bolt was really easy to take out
Yeah, from underneath, that bolt is easier to get to. And save it! Those moutning points are perfect for nitrous control units, aftermarket engine units, extra bolt down for a CAI or turbo piping.

I found the lower resonator bolts were easiEST to get to by taking out the battery and removing the tray it sits on. Then it's all right there in all its easy-to-access splendour. Gives you the opportunity to inspect your battery and put another layer of corrosion protectant on that tray.
