GT Cams

Can anyone tell me why the hp rating of the GLS and GT 2001 elantras are the same when the GT has a cam with an 8 deg / .8mm lift difference?
both say 140 at the flywheel.
Is this just because the hp is in a different rpm band or something?
My car was manufactured in mar 2001
What would I expect from my GLS if I were to get the gt cam ?
Is it worth getting this cam or should I just upgrade to intake/exhuast cams from HVE ? both cams are selling for $600 for the 240 and 260 degree cams.
what is the actual specs (as far as lift and duration) on the GLS and GT cams by the way. I can't find that info anwhere.

THE ENGINE IS THE SAME!!!! I'm sorry but I along with other people are getting tired of the cam being referred to as a "GT" cam. It is the same cam in our GLS. I have been fighting this for awhile now and no one will listen.

There is a RUMOR that the first batch of 2001 Elantras that were made still had the "old" Beta in it with the MAF system. I do not know why Hyundai would do that though. I have NEVER seen a 2001 Elantra with a MAF system installed so I don't believe the RUMOR. BTW on the springs, I know. Since you said the pre-2001 springs fit I went out and bought some H & R's. Spent 2 hours installing them, moved to the back to do the back and guess what, they did not fit. So I had to spend another 2 hours taking the backs back off. The rears were about 3/4 of an inch too thin to sit in the perches.
