It is the cheap and easy alternative.
I have yet to get my hands on a 2001 Elantra long enough to dig under the rear seat to check it's fuel pump compared to mine.
Keep in mind the above referenced fuel pump install is NOT easy. It requires cutting of fuel lines and some fabrication.

Are there any benefits of having a higher flowing fuel pump, like from the turbo eclipse, rather than having one of these electric ones?
I guess I'm looking for price/ease/performance values more or less. Or even which would be your choice?

unless you have some modifications that require more fuel flow than stock, you will possibly loose horsepower by running too rich because of excessive fuel pressure.
unless you get a nitrous or turbo, DO NOT modify/CHANGE YOUR FUEL SYSTEM.
