Hyundai Elantra Forum The Hyundai Elantra Forum. Later models (96-up) of this 4-door share their Beta engines and chassis with the Hyundai Tiburon. Earlier Mistubishi-based Hyundai Elantras (92-95) are perfect candidates for the popular 4g63t motor swap, which turns the Hyundai Elantra into a real sleeper. Default Elantra vs tib brakes

Are the brake calipers, pads, and rotors the same between tib and elantras?

I think the the brakes on the XD elantra are the same as the base model tib. It is possible to convert an elantra to the five lug hubs using tiburon parts though. There is a writeup somewhere on XDelantra.com.

The GK's had 3 different types of front brakes. The rotors won't interchange with the Elantra directly due to bolt pattern. I do believe the calipers bolt on and would work if the rotors were made to work. I am not sure about the rear brakes either way.
