Weakest part on the Accents
Other than the Alpha engine, what do you all think is the weakest part of the Hyundai accents? I think the body roll is pretty bad. Lots of roll when going around corners. The suspension in these cars need to be stiffened up alot.

Depends on the generation
X3 shifters are horrid and the perceived quality is very low
LC1s have an interior that strongly resembles duct tape and onion sacks
LC2s are pigfat
MCs have a torsion beam rear axle, nuff said
The steering feel is bad on all accents
Crash safety has always been lower than its competitors
The wiring harness connectors are shitty on X3s
Obviously mcpherson struts at the front suck
Drive a DOHC alpha before you knock them, obviously a 1.5 is never going to be a powerhouse in a 2300 lb car, but it at least revs out nicely.

I agree with wheel_of_steel except LC2's were one of the lighter of the Accents. Body style was slimmer than ANY of the ones after it and it the 04-05 models didnt look so out of date..sorry 03 and older guys. Honestly aside from cosmetic and drivability the weakest part of them is the CV joints.. I cant tell you how many time my CV boot ruptured cause I went over a speed bump the wrong way or took turns too hard...its been a while since mine was stock but ive had to replace or fix them once every 2 years. Also the chassis isnt supported very well. It has way too many flex points. Ohg forgot to mention...the brakes suck. No ABS and rear drums?! It wasn't until 06 that they FINALY installed those by then the body looked like a little bean.

I appreciated this post.
I agree, the LC2's are great, I think the 2000-2002 look almost Mitsubishi-esk somewhat aggressive. My Accent with fuel is only 2330.
The lack of brake feel. For a car with no ABS, I'd like a bit more feedback before my wheels lock up on me.
That and the total power drop off at high revs accompanied by the overbearing fuel cut. But I flog the crap out my car (including auto-x, snow-x, road rallies, and track days) and it's never missed a beat.
