Default Warning, eclipse intake on an Accent

If you're using an Eclipse intake and the filter rubs against the battery, you might wanna keep a close eye on it. Eventually, the filter will rupture the battery case and acid will spill out. Noticed that on mine last night. Not that battery acid was leaking out, but the battery case is wearing thin where the filter rubs against it.

You might also want to watch out on the CAI being to close to the batery terminals. I've heard stories of certain types of filters conducting electricity on the cone.

ahh, crap. do you think this thing would conduct electricity and cause problems here?

you know, i always had problems with the filter rubbing on things when it was just at the end of the MAF short-stack style. cept it was the filter getting torn up. so now ive still got all these things covered with electrical tape that it use to hit wink

1sickgs, I have an Eclipse intakeon my 2002 Accent, i made a brace for it that connects to the bolt closest to the front on the car, its the fisrt blot you see after you take the first section off the factory airbox. I believe its the only nut, the rest are all bolts. If you do it right, the brace will hold it steady and you can make sure it doesn't touch the battery. Also, do you notice that your intake is pretty hot after you run the car?? Mine makes alot of noise but doesn't seem to be doing anything, it feels a little less restrictive in the higher RPM range, but its not really that cool.
