Default i need a quiet performance exhaust

hey guys do you know if there are any exhausts that add horsepower but are almost stock sounding or just a little louder than stock.the reason i want something like that is cause it seems that around here loud exhausts attract too much attention from the local law enforcement. and the less attention i get from them the better.
thanks guys.

DC Sports TCS...
the quietest i know of, it's for hondas, but you can get the silencer seperate and get the cat-back pipe custom made....with the SR 4-2-1 header its probably your best bet.....

Yeah, I got the Sportone and mini-tip for the same reason you mention. I was told I could get hp and torque increases with no real noise. I am very happy with my new Sportone and mini-tip, they are are both mirror-polished 304 stainless so they look very nice too. Richard Franklin from Powertone in Upland Ca. sent me photocopies of some articles about Powertone mufflers, including the Sportone and tip that I bought. A '93 Mustang GT was dynoed (Dynojet chassis dyno) at Dynamic AutoSports in Irvine Ca. Heres
what it got with the Sportone
and Mini-tip:
Stock torque (peak) 253
Stock Hp (peak) 186

After Sportone and Mini-tip:
torque (peak) 265
HP (peak) 198

Heres a short quote from the article he sent:
"we were somewhat doubtful of the systems's performance potential.
After all, this thing was quiet.
Really quiet. But after a return trip to Dynamic AutoSports and another series of dyno runs Alan's claims were confirmed:
the mustang made almost 13 more HP than stock!"

I don't know which car mag this is from because Richard sent me just the photo-copied pages, no cover or anything. Anyway, I love this muffler and tip, and got a small but definate power
increase. And I really like the sound. Mellow. Let me know if you would like me to e-mail you a wave-file of the exhaust sound.
Its not a great recording, but at least you can get an idea of what it sounds like. You can find the Website for Powertone
and see some of their products, I THINK it's www.Powertone.com
or else do a yahoo search. I can also send you a pic of the exhaust, but I haven't been able to POST anything here because of technical problems. MechaniX has been trying to help me out, but he is still working on it.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you want the pic or wave-file.

i remember hearing a s2000 on tv and it sounded really nice. it wasn't very loud but you could tell that it was aftermarket.

No, Ruben-z, it doesn't sound like stock. It sounds deeper and sportier.... little louder than stock, just not much.

The Sportone comes in 13* and 16 inches. Either one would fit MY car, but you would prolly want the 13* if it's for your Accent.
I've never measured an Accents stock muffler next to the Elantras, so I couldn't tell you if the 16* would fit...but I'm sure the 13* would. The mini-tip is important for peeps that want a quieter street sound. I'd go with the 7* min-tip. I can't tell you how much louder the Sportone would be without the Mini-tip. You could call Richard Franklin at FX Distributors and ask him....(909) 982-6228. Tell him
a guy named Steven from Fresno
referred you. I just spoke to him the other day and just got some mail from him so he'll probably remember me. He was very helpful and cool in general.
