were the gains significant enough to go through all the hassle of cutting, modding, switching all the stuff?

 

1st I used about a 1"longer bolt to space out the throttle cable and some washers butted toghether to fill the gap! The gasket was made from a rolled gasket material that you can buy at any auto part store it's really cheap and works well!

2nd The intakes on the 1.6 and the 1.5 are different I have heard that you must open the intake up where the TB meets to alow it to work properly! On the other hand I think that the 1.6 and the tib have pretty much the same intake just the 1.6 is map sensor and the tib is mass air you would have to just get a used TB and see if it would fit on your intake! To setle the ? yes you could modify it if need be to fit and work!!! I say go 4 it!!

3rd Yes you do notice the difference with the new TB your throttle response will be improved and your top end rush is much better!! You should be able to fell a difference in all your driving low end, passing, up hill, and top end!! It is one of the best swaps that you can do to your engine!!
The mods to make the TB fit will pay off to you in return for the trouble anit really isn't that hard to do give it a shot and you will see what I mean!! wink
