Any 2.0L TB will work. Just have to make a few changes on it, Bolt holes need to be re drilled. Do a search in the engine forum, I believe that somebody mad a post on how to do this.

I did it with a elantra Throttle body and it isn't difficult. Just make the holes and connect the hoses. I recommend you to find the hose that comes from the throttle of the elantra it will help so much. GOOD LUCK!

Hey! I have the same car, and was also wondering about getting a bigger TB. I was thinking about ordering one from Shark Racing, but there was a list of mods that you had to do. The Tib TB sounds easier to install. Does it require any custom throtle cable repositioning or anything else? Also, which would be a better bet between the two, and where can I find the Tib TB? Thanks.

You are really lucky. Of course you can swap the injectors too. This will cause that the car uses a little bit more gas so that you will need more $$$, but it works well. When you do this, tou mill notice that the CHECK ENGINE light remains lit. Dont worry, it always happens. eek!

you don't need to change your injectors you will not gain enough HP from the TB swap to require new injectors! I hav ethe elantra TB on my car! It's a 97 accent but I had to space my throttle cable out to allow the TB to work properly and drill new holes and just make a new gasket! Thats about it! You can use the TB from the tibby or elantra 96 to 99 as long as they have the 1.8DOHC or 2.0 DOHC you will also need a new rubber intake connecter because the opening on the new TB is so much bigger to connect to your intake!

Here is a pic of mine!

How did you make the new gasket and space the cable? Is there any place where people can find tips for making the modifications?

Would the tibby TB work on the 1.6L accent? I am thinking that that may be a good addon to a ram air?
