newbish question. would this fit my car. It looks like it goes to a DOHC, which mine is not.

Lol, I assure you I'm no expert but thanks for the compliment.
What do you mean how will it work? How will it install, how will it run, how will it make power compared to stock, or what would you like to know?

pretty much all of the above.
The description says intake/exhaust pair, 2 camshafts... to my understanding my SOHC uses one cam to regulate the intake and exhaust valves... i'm very hesitant to purchase pricey things unless i know exactly what im getting, is what im looking for.
Using HMAservice and logical mechanical thinking ill be able to intsall it when it comes.

Well, it's only for one cam in your application. I would get a hold of the customer service at fasthyundai before paying to make sure they really have a cam for you. The application list is plainly for the SOHC 1.5l though, the Scoupe never came with a DOHC Alpha for one thing. It's not really clear but I suggest you contact them.
It'll make more power by increasing valve lift and duration allowing for more A/F mix to be drawn into the cylinders and more exhaust to be expelled. Depending on how aggressive the cam is vs. stock it may make your car idle rough and your ECU may have trouble controlling your engine if it's too far from stock. I would ask them also how well the stock ECU will run with this cam. Cam installs aren't that bad if you follow procedure and make sure that you mark everything so that you're not a tooth off (or more) on the timing belt.
