So I slammed on my braked in the accent (2003) to avoid a deer and i blew a pad out and destroyed my rotor



Has anyone tried EBC rotors and pads?

And whats a good rotor/pad combo to go with?

I have EBC slotted and cross drilled rotors with green stuff pads. They make noise. All the time. I hate it. On the plus side they work really well.



IMO - I would go with OEM rotors and a good set of pads. Maybe some other members can recommend a good set of pads.

 

My OEM pads and rotors far exceed my tires.

 

Oddly I bought a set off eBay. Buy OEM spec pads for $20 and have been happy for years. EBC pads are good also I believe they are called metal masters? But they have shown to be very good.

 

I am installing EBC drill/slot rotors with some decent pads. Haven't decided on the pads yet.

 

This, this, a thousand times this. When was the last time that anyone here found that their brakes couldn't lock up the tires/trigger the ABS? Plus the OEM-spec items have great service life and low noise, dust, and cost. Get the standard stuff please.

 

Yes nothing like having the front tires locked and barely slowing down. I bought the same tire as OEM but in a bigger size. Should have gone to a more performance oriented tire I guess instead of the long wear.

I like their graph... no science involved whatsoever!! Look like good pads tho..
