Plus a guy I know says he did the V6 swap for a client.

The main reasons not to do it is the harness will need to be fully customized because of the different number of cylinders and sensors, and as mentioned before the weight issue.</div>

okay thanks alot by the way for all of you guys' help. so im going with the beta, but is there anything past what is available on SR that i can upgrade. Also does anybody know if the turbo kit featured there fits with the accent specs and also if the cat and exhaust line up

Exhaust won't bolt up. There are a ton of other places offering parts, have a look through our vendor list. If you're looking for something specific we can help you find it.

You would need a CAI that fits an Accent, which would be one for a non-turbo '99 Eclipse.

You would need a header for the Beta and at least to have the exhaust custom fitted to your stock exhaust. In my state an exhaust shop will not work on your car without a cat in place, so you would need a high flow cat also. By the time you're that far into the project you might as well just run full custom all the way to the tailpipe IMO.

Newer than that the Beta II has CVVT, so you can't run it off of the 1.6l ECU. Other than that the swap would mechanically be the same. You'll just have to run the Beta II ECU and modify the wiring harness to allow that.

Pretty sure it's 1.6l clutch and pressure plate with the Beta flywheel if using an Alpha trans, but a Beta swapped guy will verify I'm sure.

ok gotcha cuz the clutch and pressure plate are controlled by the tranny and the flywheel by the engine so that means i would need the shifter for the alpha since it controls the tranny and its not changing. no word on the alternator huh? i have had trouble find a underdrive pulley and a limited slip diff
