Is there someone that makes an actual cold air intake, that will go all the way down below the engine and pull cooler air. I have seen some that look like they MIGHT work, but the years listed are earlier than mine. I have an '08, and have a SRI right now. I am not happy when the engine is red hot and I am pulling that high temp air in.
Thanks!!

Nope.
And the earlier CAI's won't work, the structure is completely different.
You might be able to make something work, but the MC's engine bay is tight so it'll take some careful planning and execution and maybe a battery relocation.

You could always make your own out of flexible hose duct and then wrap it with high heat header wrap. I believe the old Random Special CAI was made like that, and it brought in better performance than an AEM or Injen. smile.gif

Yes, it may just be time for the mind to start working a little!! The batt relocation is what I was thinking, but not sure. I need to remove the batt and tray and stock air inlet stuff and see whaere I am at that point.
Thanks guys!!

You might also be able to get a slim battery and have enough room. Just depends on what's under there and where you have to route things. If you post pics we can offer some suggestions.
yeah please post some pics once you have made some progress,
i have an 09 Accent GS and id like to make my own cold air as well instead of spending over 200 bucks on a short ram AEM that just looks nice

tbh some of the best intakes i have seen have retained the standard airbox and modified the lower feed to a 3" pipe
in the x3's you can run the intake pipe to behind the headlight
coupled with a kn filter its awesome (ive got it on my car atm)
