Has anybody put a Tib TBI on their Accent? If so, what should I know about the install before I try. Any info would be appreciated.

 

The tib throttle body won't fit the accent, well it may fit but the cables are all wrong. I would get a used accent TB and bore it out, also port the intake manifold to match, 55mm I think is good.

 

I thought it did work, and all that was needed was to drill new holes in the new TB to match up with the Accent's IM?

 

there is no room to really drill new holes ( you risk drilling the existing ones to large ), plus the cables are still wrong, your still better off getting a BTB made for the accent, and they are out there.

you also need to put the Accent TPS, dont use the TIburon TPS wink

 

Cobra how did you get around the cables?

I have the elantra TB on my accent! I just drilled new holes in the new TB and then modified my Throttle cable bracket( I had to space it out about an inch) and mine works great!

The tib and the elantra share the same TB I also use the elantra TPS on mine and have had no problems with it!

A great up grade for the price!
I have the 97 accent 1.5 12 valve just to set the record straight!!!
