Accent ever have x2
not sure if this is exatly engine forum but its pretty close. I was just wandering if all first gen accents (95-99) were x3's??? are there any x2's or are those excel's... and if so what years??? Thanks.
thanks frosty.... now r the x3 and x2 1.5 engines pretty simular??? could u toss the alpha from a 95 right into a 94 excel with no prob???? r the whole chassis diffrent in the cars or is it just the engine bay????
Don't know the answer to that one.. but if it helps in your search, from what I can tell, the x2 1.5l is G4DJ, the x3 1.5l is G4FK or G4EK.

My friend had a 92 Excel, and it had a Mistu engine in it... a 4g15, I believe was Mitsu's engine code for that one.
I don't think it's possible to swap an Alpha into an x2... the engine in my friend's 92 was on the wrong side side of the engine bay... the engine was on the driver's side and the tranny on the passenger side. My 97 x3 has the tranny on the driver's side and engine on the passenger side.
So, unless Hyundai used the Scoupe Alpha in the 93-94 Excel (which I don't think they did, but I could be wrong), then I don't think you can do it.
If your car has the 4g15 Mitsu engine, then what you can do is swap in a 4g61t from a late 80s/early 90s Colt turbo (rare) or a 4g63 or 4g63t from an Eagle Talon/Mitsu Eclipse/Plymouth Laser.
Swapping a 4g63t into a Colt with the 4g15 is apparently very easy as far as swaps go, so if your x2 has the 4g15, I would look into that.
Hope this helps, and that I have not provided any misinformation. If I have, someone please correct me...
