Default Accent 2001 L hatchbatch

I am currently looking into doing a beta 2 swap on a 2001 hyundai accent l (5speed) i am really just wondering what year of this engine is best, i have looked at the specs and i really just want an exp opinion on which motor is best/easiest to throw in the accent i heard the engine bolts right in? is this correct and if there is any weld modification needed i have a cert. welder/ geometer guy who is top notch, so any direction is best.

so im just wanting to keep everything looking as stock as possible. just with the bigger motor and i would like to turbo it as well got the t3/t4 turbo, exhaust bottom mount needs to be re flanged.

also another thing where is a good motor dealer for a decent used tibby/elantra motor with harness no tranny?

i am in north cali and have a truck thats the best i can give you dont mind paying for shipping.

also which is the best way to go for engine management? with the turbo and this engine?

Find a new Genesis with the 2.0T engine package that was rear-ended and leave the back 1/2 of the car at the junk yard. Engine, turbo, management, all taken care of!

Failing that, you might keep an eye out for a parts car or low-dollar elantra or tiburon for sale in your area. That would at least get you everything needed to have a running Beta. Buying a used engine separately can be done, but expect to pay $300-500+ $150 to have it shipped, at least.

I bought all my parts for the beta swap from All Hyundai Isuzu auto recyclers in Ranch Cordova... engine, trans, harness and ecu. sounds like your gunna use your alpha trans so youe can use the 3 trans mounts but you will have to customize the engine mount. I cut the square stock off of the round part of the mount and re welded new square stock to it. Do you have a 1.5 or 1.6 liter? There are many routes to go with on the wiring and I think I took the hardest route using the beta harness and cutting the plugs off from the 1.5 harness and adapting them to the beta harness. Also had to add a sensor from the elantra to my car to get rid of a check engine light, the fuel tank pressure sensor. But after it was all said an done I went to a Ref station and had my beta swap legalized for smog here in cali.

1.5 block, i was under the impression that the stock ecu and harness
could be used.

i want to use the stock transmission.

You can use the 1.6L ecu and it will plug into the 1.5 harness but some wiring is still needed to get the beta going, not really sure what it is cause I didnt go that route.

so beta 2 with a 1.6 ecu minor mods (Am going to tune with neo) wide band o2 sensor... anyone know what additional wiring is needed on this swap? i know it probably some where... front motor mount is a custom piece
fab'd from the square on the accent to weld to the mount from the beta donor. 5 speed tranny from the 1.5L will bolt up to the beta2 fine.?...

any one have a personal choice of injectors for a t3/t4 setup on the beta2? i was thinking something along 440cc injectors from subaru? can i do that just just double checking? and can i use the rods from a beta1 in a beta2 non-cvvt? whats a good upgrade clutch for a 9 to 15 psi daily? i was thinking act and i heard fodenza flywheels are good?

help me i want to get this right!

There is a slight issue getting the 1.5 manual tranny on the beta. If you look at your 1.5L setup, in the front on the trans you will see the slave cylinder push rod thing that moves the throw out bearing. Pay attention and youll notice how it sticks out past the trans and towards the block. This area is used on the beta block as a mating surface for the trans and the block will need to be notched.

Yes, 440's will be great, Most of us here use Ford Racing Green tops there 42lb or 440cc high impedance and are plug in play for the beta's and there pretty cheap about 200 bucks for 4 of them on ebay.

As for what you need to run 9 to 15 pounds, Really nothing, I ran awhile on a stock block at 15psi... Was very fun!
What you will need is a quality tune!

Also the Fidanza light weight plates are amazing, Mine is 7 pounds... Way better than the stock 24... Makes taking off a little more of a task as you will have to use a little more foot work... You might want to start looking at clutchs, or maybe looking to swap to a push style for more grab!
