Hyundai Accent Forum The Hyundai Accent Forum. Hyundai's little champ. While the Hyundai Accent and Hyundai Excel may be small, they respond very well to aftermarket modifications and is among the favorites for Hyundai tuners.

From what I've read, the sedan is about 2500 and the hatch 2600. So with 138hp, you're looking at a quick little car.

I'm guessing they'll come in closer to 2300-2400lbs...The new Elantra is 2660lbs.

The elantra's only 2660? wow. I really wish the new Accent came in a 3 door, but it looks like the Veloster is replacing it, and that's fine with me.

Note that there are members here getting similar fuel economy on much-larger, much more powerful engines, in heavier cars. I am not impressed. If a random sumdood in his garage can beat your million dollar engine engineering team, you fail . . . I'm looking at you, global auto industry!

You can achieve higher than the rated MPG in any car if you drive it properly. If I drove my grandparents's V6 Altima like my grandmother does, I'd get very good fuel economy. But I can drive my Accent like a complete hooligan and still get about 28MPG in the city. I'd rather have the smaller car and drive the crap out of it than have to baby a bigger engine.

lol... I've seen 35mpg in my Genesis Coupe over a 35 mile 55-65MPH country road... but for some damn reason, I get 17mpg on every tank. :paranoid: booost happy.... I CAN get great mileage if I wanted to, but if that was my primary concern I would have bought a 3-liter 98hp smart car

A 3-liter Smart Car sounds pretty fun, but 98hp seems a little low. Must be an 80's American V6 lol.
