Default 2001 Engine Swap

Sorry If I missed a topic covering this already. I have a 2001 Accent GS with the stock 1.6L auto w/ overdrive engine, I was wondering what my options are for a swap (auto to auto) and what I would need to replace. Thanks in advance.

Easiest swap is the 2.0L beta engine from Elantras/Tiburons. Do a search for "Beta swap" and you'll find heaps of information

Is that a considerable hp gain gain?

Its a very easy swap that most people do in a weekend in their garage. Check out the Hybrid Forum on here and you'll find a TON of info on it. Not only does the beta engine have more power and torque, but theres also alot more aftermarket parts available for the beta compared to the alpha.
