1.5 DOHC or 1.6 DOHC ?
I`ve been hearing all kind of controversy about the difference between these 2 engines. I have the 1.5 DOHC. Beside the longer stoke on the 1.6, what are the differences? Which one is better? What is the 0-60 time for both stock cars?
Thanks
Thanks
The 1.6L has only 1 hp gain over the 1.5L, but there is a significant bump in torque, and it comes in much lower in the rpm range. I believe the bore is different as well as the stroke. 0-60 times are kinda useless since you are talking about a larger, heavier Accent. If you really want to know, there is a website that has 0-60 times for almost every production car around. I can't remember the website off hand.
Did you buy a different car? Your sig says '93 Excel - that is a different motor altogether, and only SOHC 8-valve 1.5l.

The bore of the 1.6L is slightly more. Also, the block is stronger (supposively), the intake cam has more lift, and its equipted with a MAP sensor. There;s a good article on the 1.6L over on hyundaiperformance.com.
Other than what i posted, i think they are basically the same motor.
