two of the noises in said post (the noise of my muffler dragging and the oscillating squeak) happened AFTER i got the new rims and immediately during the first driving cycle (like the first 100ft), right after i jacked up the driver's side of the car to look at my fuel filter. could putting all that weight on the two passenger's side 40-series tires have messed up a wheel bearing? like, because there is so little sidewall to "absorb" the weight, could that have stressed the wheel bearing too much? i've jacked up just one side of the car countless times with the stock 195/55 tires on there, and this never happened.

Hyundai seems to have a problem with wheel bearings. It seems about 30% of our members have had at least one go bad, some have had the same one go bad multiple times.
MY car stills runs strong, surprisingly...all the problems with my car are created by myself and after market parts.

Dont know too many people that have ever used aftermarket bearings so cant help ya there. But if you're handy with tools and know how to change them yourself, just buy OEM ones (they're very cheap), go to a machine shop and have them pressed in, and you're good to go. smile.gif
