Seat Belts
I recently bought a crashed Tiburon that I am returning to stock form. Oneo f the things i have to replace i THINK is the seat belts. They are both stuck. Is this a computer thing that can be reset? Perhaps it automatically did that because of the accident? Or do i have to replace the seat belt apperatii?

Heya Yam, best of luck.I recently bought a crashed Tiburon that I am returning to stock form. Oneo f the things i have to replace i THINK is the seat belts. They are both stuck. Seatbelts are tricky. I got in an accident once and had a safety inspection afterwards. This is what I was told. There is a label on most seatbelts that stays hidden. When you get in an accident, if the label is now showing because of the stretch or pull on the belt, it MUST be replaced. Also, if the belt won't reset (Go back in or it's stuck), the belt cams on the internals may be rusted (How long did it sit?), or broken.
If I was you? Replace them. Safety is job 1.
LOL
In my accident in my old Sprint, the belts had stretched enough to see the label and the label said "If this label is exposed replace belt system IMMEDIATELY." Death, ect...

The spool or the frame of the retractors probably got tweaked. I'd go to a junkyard (silly, eh?) and find a tib or another hyundai that's been rearended and snag those belts/retractors.QUOTE

Belts age too, they recommend you replace racing harnesses every 7 years or after a major impact.
You will need new belts then. You will have to get them locally also because they can not be shipped unless the shipper has a hazardous shipping liscence. They are considered explosive devices.
