The guy at the local dealership says they have to use presses on all four operations, remove bearing, remove hub, install hub, install bearing. They have a fixture for it, because you can get it cockeyed and then need more than just a bearing.
Edit: and by "the guy" i mean a mechanic not a service writer.

Are you talking about the knuckle? The hub is what presses into the bearing
Sounds like you've taken the nuts off the outer tierod end and lower balljoint and cannot remove them from the knuckle?
This is normal, you can either use a pickle fork and hammer to separate the joints, or what I always do is HIT the knuckle itself with a hammer where the joint goes through it. The shock from the hit will loosen the joint. Just be careful not to hit the threads on the tierod/balljoint
I would probably rent a pickle fork from the nearest parts store in your situation

Everything else I was able to do this weekend, except replace bearings. I will let a shop or knowledgable friend who has the tools do it.
