reving to high or something

Default reving to high or something

OK out of no where something went wrong with my car. Like before ifi was in first and i floored it would just go but now if i do it the car goes slow and the rpms just fly up. i dont mean in just first or ifi just floor it i mean in every gear. i am doing like 30 in 3rd gear and go to speed up i push harder and the rpms fly up but the car just slowly goes up a little. any one know waht this could be? i hope u can understand what i mean its hard to explain

Sounds like your clutch is slipping.

ditto on the clutch
Go about 40Mph, put it in 5th, put it to the floor, if it does the same thing, you need a new clutch

how much do clutches usually run? something always has to go wrong with my damn car. last week it was the brakes this week a new clutch. stupid damn car i hate it

depends on which clutch. i've seen oem replacements on ebay for just over $100. one thing you might want to check is if you have the clutch pedal play nut too tight. i tightened mine up to take out ALL of the play, and the clutch slipped because the clutch wasn't fully engaging. it's just one thing to check, but not probable if you haven't touched the play adjusting nut since you bought the car.

yeah i had the car for two years now and i never touched what ever u are talking about. i am gonna call hyundai tomorrow and see how much it cost and check how much it would be to install it cause my dad wont have time with work and the weather like this. its snowing like crazy and the garage is to crowded. so i will haev to spend some money to get it intalled.oh well.

You might want to call around to some dedicated transmission shops, or at least local garages in your area. They might be much cheaper than the dealer.

Just ask how much to install a new clutch.

You also might want to consider a Kore Stage1 as a replacement, if the cost of the OEM unit is to high.
