RD1 Tib Running Rich
Hi all,
My ECU died a few months ago and I was able to source a replacement for the car.
Problem is, the ECU isn’t from a same spec 1997 Tiburon.
I’m not really sure where the ECU came from but the best guess that I have is that it’s from a local Elantra.
I wish I had more details but I wasn’t able to take note of the part numbers when I had it installed.
Anyway, current problem is that I think that the car is now running too rich.
FC became really bad after the ECU install and I noticed that my exhaust has “soot” in it, has a distinct smell and sometimes puts out white smoke.
Upside is that the car feels more torque-y and responsive in the low-mid revs after the ECU replacement (via butt dyno).
Is there a way to fix the “rich” problem without having to get an ECU or a piggyback?
I can’t source a same spec ECU here in the Philippines and importing brand new from Korea costs an arm and a leg.
Thanks in advance!
