Need help with pistons
I dont know how to do the math here, to figure out what combination will get me 8:5:1 compression.
Ok I have a 2.0 block using 1.8 crank and rods soo, anyone know the formula for figuring out what size type of pistons I need to get? If it ends up a little higher that 8:1 its ok I guess rolleyes.gif
Can anyone take a crack pot shot at this one for me? Or give me the formula.

Have Chris make up a set of 1.8L Pistons for you car since you are basically changing over to a 1.8L Motor. The Block Between teh 1.8L and 2.0L are IDENTICAL and ONLY the CRANK,Rods and Pistons are different.
If you install stock 2.0L Pistons into the 1.8L your compression will drop to about 9.1:1 ratio..
If you install 8.5:1 ratio Pistons made for a 2.0L and install them into your 1.8L you will defently be WAY to low at UNDER 6:1 ratio.
The 1.8L Pistons are Domed and 2.0L Pistons are Flat top.
I had Chris make me a set of 8.5:1 Pistons for my 1.8L and you can purchase them from him!
Hope this helps! smile.gif smile.gif

So, there is no way I can get 8:5:1 ratio out of my setup?
I just posted above that YOU CAN get 8.5:1 ratio Pistons for your car SINCE your running a crank and Rods from a 1.8L?So, there is no way I can get 8:5:1 ratio out of my setup?
Just tell Chris what you have and he can build it for you as he did for me!
