Installation Help
I got my Pace Setter full cat back exhaust yesterday in the mail. I took it out today and was looking how everything was going to connect. The exhaust which i got is a 3-bolt flange and my tiburon only has a 2-bolt. Also it looks as if the exhaust is coming up 30 inches too short. Any ideas on what i should do? Also, this is for a 1997 Tiburon. Thanks.

I have the same set up on my 99. It fit fine went on well and didn't come up short on the piping at all. I beleive the cat on a 97 is different. If worse comes to worse you might have to take it to a muffler shop and have them put on a different kind of adapter.

Well id really like to try to avoid having to take it to a shop. On ure 99 tib was it 2-bolt flange or 3? On the exhaust u recieved was it 3-bolt flange? Im just trying to see if maybe he shipped wrong exhaust. Thanks.

The pipe had a three bolt flange to bolt onto the cat both the cat and the pipe have a three bolt flange they look like a triangle. That's really odd that yours is different maybe you got Cali emmisions or something I have no clue but mine was fine I wonder why yours is not But I really think it won't cost that much for a muffler shop to change the flange or contact Pacesetter and tell them maybe the will ship you the peice for free. Sorry I can't be of more help but if you have anymore questions just ask hopefully I can answer them.

Yes that does seem a bit odd. Hmm. I might need to double check to make sure i have this plugging into the right pipe smile.gif. If i am coming up short, and they aren't the same bolt flange than maybe im looking at the wrong thing. Anyway I'll figure it out tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Does anyone know for sure if the exhaust on a 97 tiburon is different than a 99 tiburon??
What did u mean that one side was 2-bolt and the other was 3-bolt? Are u saying im putting this in the wrong end or something?? Thanks for all the help though jaws.

From what I've been able to gleen out of the forums.
The 1997's and 1999's have 2 bolt flanges. the 1998's have 3 bolt flanges. It sounds like that exhaust is designed off of the 1998.
My 1999 has all 2 bolt flanges.
