Default How best to use webtech?

Hey everybody

I've been using webtech for a couple of years now, but I don't feel I'm being very efficient when I use it.

For example, when I want to get a part number for an intake section, here's what I use: SERVICE INFORMATION -> SHOP -> 1994 S-COUPE G 1.5 SOHC -> ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM -> INTAKE AND EXHAUST. Notice the lack of part number in this picture?

It is roughly the same procedure for any car. Its not just for the s-coupe that there aren't part numbers listed. Are there any other sections of webtech that I can find these numbers?

So far, I've established that

Shop = general overviews and mechanical procedures

ETM = Circuit diagrams

TSB = Technical service bulletins

DTC = Lists of diagnostic trouble codes, and procedures for fixing them

OM = The owner's manual for your model

So, given that, are some parts numbers just not listed? How do you guys work around webtech? I'd really like to be able to use it more efficiently, because it is such a fat goldmine of information. For some interesting comparison, here is an explanation of the DSM version of webtech

Cheers for reading!

Oh, and to add to this, you can go to MyHyundai.com and register your vehicle (no VIN needed, I don't think) and you can view the Owner's Manual online. I use it as an online timeline for my oil changes and service, since I do it all myself. It helps me keep track of when I need to change my oil next. Online > Hand written.

The only place I ever saw all the part numbers listed was a sticky from another forum that became part of HyundaiAftermarket, that has scans from the parts manual for the RD tib. Webtech tends to not have part numbers where one might expect them, if at all. Mostly I find PNs in the TSBs, for parts being discussed in the TSB, or for special tools in procedures that call for them.

I

WISH

I could find a list of all the part numbers for my car.

Hmmm, okay. I know Random mentioned that he had a 'premium' dealer version of webtech that was a little more comprehensive, but I don't see why they would hide a part number lookup from the average consumer.

For the record, these parts do have numbers, because when I try and order them at my local parts dept, they are able to print out fuzzy diagrams with all the PNs displayed.

Is it worth contacting Hyundai about this?

Every part has a part number. The dealership parts counter guy has access to software we customers do not.

For procedures, it's HMA all the way.

For US part number lookup, I use http://www.jimellishyundaiparts.com

For everything else, I break out Google translate and dive into one of the Russian parts site... http://autopartmaster.com/en/?action...ow&cat=hyundai

I'll just take it back on topic instead and say "+ and thanks for those links!"
