Engine hiccup?

Engine hiccup?
It happened 3 times tonight. It did it a few times before in the past but I just thought it was various things like the stations didn't switch to winter formula or if it happened from launch that I did a really poor job of launching.
But tonight it did it in 2nd and 3rd. No CEL, full tank of gas, the defroster was on this time but I dunno about the past times. Car has 49,000km on it.
This is what happened was I shifted to 2nd no problem, saw an opening and changed lanes, halfway through the lane change it feels like someone hit the brake then let go.
If anyone has any input of what might be causing this, it'll be great. Thanks

My first guess would be the TPS, but it could be a lot of things.
Can you reproduce it at will, or does it just sometimes "happen"? How long does the "event" last before the car returns to normal?

It just happens at random, can't reproduce it at will. It only lasts for a moment, like a hiccup. I dunno what else to call it.
Assuming it is the TPS, would something like that be covered under warrantee or would I be required to by a new one?

When it happens it basically feels like I got off the gas and on the brake and right away back on the gas. But my foot is on the gas the whole time. As for how it sounds, I'm not exactly sure but I think sounded like the engine just shut off, as in for that brief moment I didn't hear anything coming from the engine or exhaust. But like I said I'm not 100% sure. Cause I did have a cd playing at the time.

Do you have aftermarket pedals installed?
This may sound like an assinine question, but are you 100% sure your foot is not hitting both the gas and break pedal?
When it happens, does it happen durring the "middle" of constant acceleration, or only at the beggining of accelerating. If it is ONLY happening at the beggining of accelerating, it might be your foot is hitting the brake and the gas at the same time.
Oh...how "often" does it happen? Once a day? once a week? Once a month or ???

No aftermarket peddles.
Positive my foot isn't on the break.
It's been happening more frequently lately. Like once every 3 or 4 days roughly.
It is only happening during acceleration, but not directly after a gear change.
When it happens I don't let off on the gas so if it were my foot hitting the brake it'd just come to a stop, but after it kinda lurches forward for a second the power comes back.
Come to think of it, it's kinda like when you run outa gas. But I had a full tank.

Sandman....hey!, change your fuel filter. Be warned, it`s a bitch to get off!...soak the unions with penetrating oil overnight (Or even brake fluid- but keep it away from paintwork!).
Good luck!.
