Default Engine dies after starting?

I have an 03 Tib with the 2.7L. For some reason the engine dies right after starting when it's very cold. When it starts to do it I can give it gas and it will barely stay running. I have told my dealership about this and they have put it on the diagnostic machine but says they can't find anything wrong with it. It only does it sometimes especially if it has been shut off for a long period of time, for instance overnight in the cold. I have theories but don't want to put my foot in my mouth if you know what I mean. If anyone has heard of such a thing before please let me know so I can get it taken care of cuz it's really starting to annoy me. Thanks.

take it to the dealership, and leave it overnight. tell them to start it in the morning. tell them to fix it after it dies. if they don't wanna fix it, call hyundai's 1-800 number and complain. perhaps you can get something done that way. there IS something wrong if it's doing this, whether or not your dealership can find it.

check the engine forum. I put a TSB in there for this problem. This is a known problem. Hyundai has a new code for the ECU.

Hey Random,

While I have ran into this said hesitation problem, especially when it's 25 degrees or colder, will this TSB solve the starting and dying problem. I have also ran into some other problems with the 03 Tibbys that you might find interesting. For instance, really bad vibration when you take off slowly. The engine isn't bogging down, but the car shakes really bad when you try to take off at a normal pace. I have no idea what might cause this, but I can say it's rather annoying. I can put the rpm's up to about 1200 and take off fine, any lower than that and it starts to vibrate. Did they put a sport clutch in these things, I doubt it but hey anything is possible, right? Thanks again.
