Default Damn vibrating when decelerating

I have this damn annoying sound coming from my rear-view mirror vibrating when decelerating( say going from 5k down to 2k)
it vibrates just under 3k on the rpm's.

Is there anyway I can take my mirror off and fix this? Anyone have diagrams on how to?

thanks

this happens to i think every tib.. i was talking to one of our other members at the last meeting about it... the actual vibrating noise will go away after a while, but the mirror will still vibrate, and we cant for the life of us find find a screw or something we can tighten... but if it's just the noise that bothers ya, that will go away, stuff just hasta settle

Warped brake rotors. The Stock Tibby rotors are rather weak when it comes to warping.

If you have a warranty left, see if you dealer will turn your rotors for you.

If not, it costs about $25-$50 per wheel at midas or any brake shop.

Keep in mind...once they warp and are turned, they are more prone to warp again. You might want to look into new rotors.
www.sharkracing.com and www.stranoparts.com has performance rotors for the Tibby.

Oh, i'm pretty sure its the rear view mirrors, when I hear the vibrating noise, I just put my finger on the back of the mirror and it stops.

The mirror may be what's vibrating, but are you sure it's not vibration caused by the rotors?

Yep.. the rearview mirror. It vibrates at 3200 rpm in my car.

Somebody over at fxtreme.org once described that he opened up the mirror and made some changes in the way that the actual mirror is fastened in the plastic housing.
I do not know the details anymore...

I'm thinking of superglueing the mirror to the plastic housing. That will hopefully stop the vibrating..

I've had a idea, I took some black thread, and wrapped it around the mirror's joint till it stops vibratting, works great, can't see it and its still movable wink.gif

ps. You have to get the thread as tight into the joint(orbetween it) so it acts like a cusion)

easy fix wink.gif
