Default A/C and tranny don't mix......

This is kind of strange to me.....I'm driving down the road and everything is working fine. My buddy turns the AC on and all of the sudden my tranny keeps screwing up. It's an auto and when the AC is on it wont shift...it just stays in one gear. It doesn't shift into overdrive either...it just gets a slow start and doesn't feel right until it gets up to speed but even then something is still wrong? Anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

I would check your electrical system. It sounds like something is crosswired there.

Have you done any changes/mods to the car? Specifically the electrical system?

[I haven't done any electrical mods other than wiring two neons to my dome light switch, but it did this before that also...

There is a harness that is the only point at which the a/c fan wires and the tranny wires are joined. Try moving this harness (near the tranny) and that may be the problem, a crosswiring. I hope that works. rolleyes.gif

I had a trouble like that one. When I turned on the A/c, the backup lights turned on too. That's why I suggest you shake that harness. dunno

Sounds like something is wrong with the wiring, thats runs from the ECU to the TCM telling it that A/C has been engaged.
