Default betls are squeaking

ok, my belts squeak occasionally. it seems that they do it in the morning after a night of rain. my guess is that it's moisture in the air that causes them to squeak. after the car warms up (usually a few minutes), it goes away. i was thinking about getting some belt dressing, but could it be that the belts are just a little loose?

check for oil, water on them, check to see how tight they are. Also see if they are worn/cracked. then put dressing ( only a bit ) on them.

I've heard both good and bad about belt dressings... to each his own.

Usually belts squeal for a reason, for the price of a new belt or two I'd say change 'em and make sure you don't over tighten them.

I see it's a 2000 but how many miles do you have?
