Attempted theft!
Twice this week someone has tried to break into my car. The first time they jammed a screwdriver in the door handle and tried to pry the door open. Luckily they didn't succed and I was able to repair the scratches and the locking mechanism. That was on Tuesday @ work. Last night someone tried to break into my car by busting the driver's side window out. My car was the third one that got hit that night along with a few of my neighboors. Again luckily my neighboors chased the would-be thiefs of before they could snatch anything. But here is my dilema. I need to find out how much it costs to get a replacement drivers side window for my car and where, when I can get it. I need it ASAP because I have to have my car to drive to work. I am a consultant and if I take days off I don't get any pay for it. I'm already taking Friday off and I'm losing out on over $150 because of it.
Not much help from the UK, but over here most windscreen replacement people carry side windows as well. Failing that, call your local dealer they should be able to sort something for you.
As an aside, consider getting even the mildest tint to your windows, as one effect of this is to make them more stable and harder for a scumbag to smash.. Different companies offer different levels of security film, you can even get stuff that will keep 6"x6" windows in one opiece in the event of a bomb blast!

well, i cant help you to much but that happened to a friend of mine. his 91 civic hatchback got busted on the passengerside window during the day time but the burgulars got chased away. the place he works at paid for the window (insurance) and they installed it at his work place in one day. so it wasn't a huge amount of time to get it covered. I think that you could just find a window shop and hopefully they have the window in stock (unlikely because we have uncommon cars) but they could also do the installation at your work site. good luck
expect at least a week if you HY dealer orders it , they are relal slow wiht any kind of orders. try local junk yards... tha''s your best bet since if you order from some other place otehr then dealer it will still be aroud 5 business days...they take 1-2 to shipp otu and few days for delivery.

I was just about to reply & suggest film-application when I scrolled onto your posting Richard!.
Yes, he probably had been drinking Jon!.
I don`t think that being on here qualifies as `getting out more`!.
Cheers guys, Nick.
