it only does this sometimes. when i'm at a complete stop with the car out of gear, the car will idle normally. then, the rpms will dip to about 400-500 rpms and the car sounds like it's gonna stall. then, the rpms jump up to around 1200 (i guess that's the ecu correcting whatever happened), and it settles back to normal. some days it does it a lot, others not at all. any ideas?

 

Hey i had that problem when i got my intake and eventually it threw a CEL. It was the IAT sensor (intake air temp) not being plugged into the intake tract. It did this really bad during the winter months (outside air reaaaaaaally cold but sensor is reading ambient engine bay temp when the motor heated up 'cause the sensor was dangling) This may or may not your case but i'd thought i share this info.

well, i have the iat sensor plugged into my cai. however, it may be lose or something. ya, it's hasn't done this ever until i moved to ct and winter came. thanks for the info.
