98 elantra manual tranny leak help!

Hi new to forum 1st post sucks it has to be a bad one.
Well here is the problem. My tranny is leaking from idk where. The car has over 200k on it and I have been replacing all kind of $h!+ since I had it but this is a new one. I have a stage 2 race clutch maybe 6 months or so old I have been seeing alot of oil leaking. The first time I looked it was soaked around the slave cyld. I thought that's what is was have not had problem with clutch sticking or not being able to switch gears. So I clean the area and put about a 1/2 quart of oil in. Drove to work and checked there is not much oil there anymore or around master cyld. so their not it. Check the axel seals there good. Seems to be leaking from any where the tranny is bolted. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for replys...Its definitely gear oil it's smells I know the difference but my question now is, is it better to seal it or get another tranny? I am planning to rebuild another 1.8 to run nitrous so money wise and the condition of this tranny is it best to get another?
In that case, it's the input shaft seal.
Not an expensive thing to replace, just get one from the dealer and install.
Do the axle shaft seals when you have it out as preventative maintenance.

Rear main seal is on the back of the engine, and seals the crank.
If I'm not mistaken it can be replaced without removing the oil pan/crank.
You would need to remove the flywheel.
Input shaft seal requires the trans out, and possibly the bell housing to be taken off? I know it's easy as sh*t to do though, relative to removing the trans.
To do either it's at a minimum dropping the trans out, so I say buy both from the dealer, and replace whicgever leaks.
The spare rear main seal can be used on your upgraded 1.8 engine build if you don't replace it.
I caution that you should let the rear main seal alone unless it is leaking, just to be on the safe side.

Cool thanks for the help ill b doing it soon and hopefully back on the road soon. I was going to replace the tranny now ill just fix it and save the money for my build. Great help thanks.

Update * so my tranny was leaking bcuz it was cracked. After taking the trans apart there was something in one of the gear assembly that was sticking out digging into the wall of the trans. It was putting grooves in it till it eventually crack. Had to replace the tranny. Just some info for anybody with a gear oil leak problem...
