So I was at the gym last night and one of the trainers had mentioned selling plasma to pay for extra stuff he wants... says its $50 each times hes goes, and usually does 1-2 plasma donations a week.
Anyone do this? Guess it helps others and you can earn some extra spending cash (50-100/week). laugh.gif

Around here it was 20 the first time in the week and then 30 the next time if in the same week. I did it for a while when I was in school still, but for me it wasn't worth it. Took a couple hours and the place wasn't super close to where I was living. Oh, and then they blew through the vein or whatever when they were filling me back up with saline to rehydrate me...So my bicep was about 4x the size it should be and I nearly passed out. Apparently you can die from that. My arm was bruised so bad for almost a month...so yeah that was the end for me smile.gif

Yeah...I generally give blood every few months, but never thought of the idea of giving plasma. I definitely dont need the money and would be more willing to do give plasma just for the thought of helping others. But I've heard horror stories of the workers in those places not finding veins and really messing stuff up. Luckily, I've never had any issues when giving blood. *lol*
Once you donate more than three times, the amount you get paid drops. The place near me pays $40 for the first two or three times the only like $15. Personally I dont think its worth it.
I worked with someone who also worked at one of those places. Once I found out she was the one sticking needles in people I decided no way. I wouldn't trust that girl with a pen.
