JET-HOT Coating Discount!
I'm sorry to say, we do not coat pistons or any internal engine parts/blocks or heads.
Thanks

i had a shop that has closed down apparently in the last year or so that had a 'piston package' where they would ceramic coat the piston done and also apply some sort of electrostatic (i think, its been a while since i talked to them) coating to the skirts to reduce friction against the bore.
do you do or recommend ceramic coating piston domes? and if so, how much would it cost per piston (76.5mm bore, dished piston)? also i would need to know the thickness of the coating(s) themselves so that when the pistons are built i can take those few thousandths thickness into consideratoin.
also i know this group buy is for ceramic only, but do you know of or offer anything to coat the skirts of the piston to reduce friction, or is this a myth, or not your area to discuss?
thanks again.</div>
Thanks

Chris, thanks for answering all these questions.
I have a few things...
1. Administrative - Please don't repetively post, it's hard to keep track of, use the edit button to add more quotes and such please. wink.gif
2. I am planning on sending in my Airram Intake Manifold. Do I need to have it taken apart and cleaned up before I ship it? It's 2 parts.
3. I am also sending in my headers from our group buy, it's a 2 piece set, check out our group buy forum, the Maintec Header Group Buy. I've got the GT set coming.
4. I have another set of headers I am sending to you around the same time.
5. Do you have a better picture of the colors available? The one we posted is perty small and I can't see them well. Are there any more vibrant colors?
6. You say you do valve covers, but our valve covers are NOT metal. Don't ceramic coatings have to be baked on?
7. Can you post the shipping addresses for us to send stuff to? I'm assuming when we send you stuff, we include our forum name and such and refer to the discount? Then we are contacted with the price?
Thanks for being so helpful man. I can't wait.
OH! How about throttle bodies?

in reference to me, i know plastic cannot be coated. i will be sending my scoupe turbo valve cover (12v 1.5) which is aluminum.
thanks for the insight though, others may not know that laugh.gif

Answer to:
#2 : All parts should be taken apart before being shipped in for coating. The way the parts are received is the way they will be coated. If coated together, it will be very hard to take it apart later.
#5 : I have another picture of the colors, I will try to post it here.
#6 : We do coat aluminium valve covers. There are two things that would cause a problem. If the aluminium is too thin (we do bake at 650 degrees F), it can damage the cover. Also, if there is a baffle in the valve cover, the polishing process can leave small beeds in the baffle that can't get out. If we receive a part that may be a problem, we would contact that person so they can make a descion on what they want done.
#6 : I would ask everyone to email thier name, address and phone #. After I get this, I can enter it into the system and respond with an ID# and the shipping address. If I don't get this information, you may not get the discount (only because there wasn't a quote set up). My email is Chris@jet-hot.com .
We can coat throttle bodies but they have to be taken apart fully. We normally do not get the throttle bodies.
Thnanks

Yes, we can ship by MAIL to an APO. Assuming it would be for a small 4cyl header, it would run about $20-25 to ship to an APO address.
Thanks

Chris, Please use the Edit button instead of posting repetitively. I fixed the last one.
Also, when quoting people as part of answering the questions, its much easier for us to follow if you place the quotes either at the top of your reply, or if answering multiple questions from different members, put the quote directly above your answer. Its quite a lot easier to follow that way.
Thanks.

Hey man, I will probably not be in for the discount since i will not be getting my turbo kit until around june. I am very interested in getting my turbo header, downpipe, and IC charge pipes, coated sterling silver. I am also interested in getting my turbo coated in the flat black color. How much do you think all of these parts would run me without the discount. How much would the turbo alone cost? I don't know if I am confortable taking the turbo apart and sending it out.
Thanx alot man.
Hope to do buisness with Jet-hot in the future.
