im in collage and jobless, before i started i had a job and totally would have had the money by now.



hopefully the offer stands for a while, cause we NEED these hatches! the value is gonna go up, i know i would pay more if i missed out and there were only 5...



if we can still get a group buy going after the run of rd1's i think there is gonna be tons more interest in the rd2's!

Tibbytib what's the deal on this group buy? Are we going to move forward with the 4 RD1's we currently have? I would love for this to get going or get some info. Not trying to be rude just haven't heard from you.

 

No offense taken man. Been busy and honestly this has not been at the top of my priority list. Tomorrow is Monday, well, technically thats today! Point being, I will give Aldo a call tomorrow and see if they are still interested. To be honest, I was hoping for the 5th person to sign up. I am a little strapped on funds right now as I am just finishing up a huge project on the tib! (Thread to come VERY soon!)

Ok, just talked to aldo. They are still interested, but they need to write up a new estimate since it has been over a year and prices for materials/shipping/etc. have changed.





UPDATE:



Ok, I just got off the phone with Aldo. Unfortunately, I have some bad news. The prices definitely went up.



Last year they really tried to help us out. Typically they require 10 orders PER MOLD to hit the 699 price point. They were doing us a favor since we were only ordering 5 RD1 and 5 RD2 for a total of 10, but only 5 orders per mold.



Well, the RD2's are way down in count, so to get the ball rolling on the RD1's with a minimum order of 1-5, the cost is going to be between 1050 and 1250 per hatch NOT including shipping. Shipping will be an additional 140 to 200 depending on your shipping location. Remember, this also does NOT include lexan or glass. That will be our responsibility as well.



Good news is, we only need a minimum order of 1! we have 4 so thats good. Bad news is, it will be between 1190 and 1450 to have a carbon hatch shipped to your door with more out of pocket expenses getting the lexan or glass fit to the hatch.



To be honest, I would love to get these done, but this is now getting out of my price range.



If someone knows another shop who can work more in our budget, than I will gladly hand over the reigns.



There is still the possibility that we find 2 more interested parties and then we will be in the 6-10 price point of 699-899 plus shipping. But as it stands, by the time we all chip in to buy TWO more hatches to hit the price point, we are better off just paying the 1100 for our own hatches.



Post your thoughts/concerns/flamings. It is what it is. Not sure what more we can do at this point.

 

Well that is a heart breaker. Hell I was willing to purchase a second so we had five and I would just sell it on Ebay. But at that price range no way.



I say look around at different venders would be a good option. Tell them we have 5 people for the RD1's and hate to say it but I wouldn't mention the RD2's unless they can get more representation.
