Default Weight Reduction?

How beneficial is it to reduce the weight of your car in terms of a quarter mile? Say like if you remove seats/interior/spare tire/get plexiglass windows/carbon-fiber hood etc... Been playing GT3a and Toyko Xtreme Racer and it seems like worlds of difference, and I'm curious how it would affect an actual car. (Wanna see if getting rid of excess weight is worth it, and sick of passengers in the back seats also rolleyes.gif )

I think what they say is for every 100 lbs you shave 1/10th of a second...but that's just what I have heard... I can't back it up in any way...

Hmmm.... I could lose 100 lbs. I'd be pretty thin, but for a 0.1 second difference, it's worth it! rolleyes.gif

By the way, is 400 meters comparible to 1/4 mile? I'm way to lazy to actully figure it out myself and you non-Americans are smarter anyways...

400 meters is close enough to a 1/4 mile. Its a little short by a few meters.

I think it is 50 Lbs for every 0.1 sec, but 100 sounds more realistic.

At LACR on the 29th, I'll be removing my subs, amp and spare just to get as light as reasonably possible.

Hmm...that explains it... I have always wondered why my car always seemed faster when my girlfriend wasn't driving with me.
