1999 Tibby with MHP CAI as only mod
120 HP 118 Torque
2000 Elantra with alpine Supercharger, Random Special CAI, SR Barney Bored TB.
140 HP 126 Torque*
*Yamaneko's run had severe detonation problems and also a problem with the dyno....When I post the photo of the dyno...you'll understand, but needless to say...don't trust these numbers...
1989 VW Corrado G60 (Supercharged)
Bore to 2.1 L, Smaller supercharger pulley, chip, headers, exhaust, High flow filter, reworked intercooler plumbing.
142 HP 158 Torque
1999 Tiburon, Alpine Turbo with intercooler, Random Special Turbo CAI.
169 HP 167 Torque.
The dyno showed Yamaneko is having SERIOUS detonation problems at about 4500 RPM. It is what limited his HP and torque. The Dyno also mis-read his spark signal, so it said he reved to 13,500 RPM, so the torque "readings" are multiplied by 2, but that is still not accurate.
The dyno showed just how horribly tuned my Car is. I have a "Vtech" style spike from 4800 to 5000 RPM where it jumps 20 HP, then trails off from 5200 to 6750 cuttoff.
I will post up the dynos and photos on monday, I've got drag racing tonight and then the Car show sunday.

I should be pushing 170 at least with the SC, but since Alpine does not know a SC tune from a tune on the radio, its all out of wack. The SC is actually making my car preform as if I was at stock levels, because it decreases my HP in the powerband when I need it the most. To show, I only did a 16.4 on the track at sea level.

In a word...tuning. Alpine did not tune either car. The supercharger is having horrible detonation problems over about a 1500 RPM spread.
My turbo is drowning in fuel, except for a narrow 200 RPM band when power jumped 20 HP.
When I post the Dyno's, you should be able to see what we are talking about.
Those should go up later tonight.

I'd really like to get the alpine dev. turbo kit, but looking at random's dyno's im a bit discouraged. im figuring random is one of the most knowledgable ( atleast way more than me) on this message board, and he got 169 hp. i know that he will be able to tune it better and get it up in the 200's, but i dont know the half of what he knows, and there's prob no way id be able get it right. especially being here in cleveland, the import scene isnt all that big, let alone the tiburon scene. i could always just pay someone, but 2k for the turbo, another 1K in installlation fees, another 1k for clutch and installation, how much would i have to pay to get somone that knows what they are doing to 'tune' it right. so my help is a bit limited. aaaaggghhh this is so frustrating, i get one question answered and it opens up like five more. its just overwhelming to know that i could pay $4000.00 to possibly only gain 29hp.
