I can tell you in no uncertain terms that if you do that in a 1.6l Alpha it ticks like after severe autocross induced oil starvation. Remove Fram, problem goes away. I've run them on other vehicles with no problem but my HLAs hate Fram filters. I'm pretty sure it would cause premature damage as it's loud and pretty severe. I'm not going to run it on my car to test that theory though.
