I don't know about the MHP short shifter, but the Shark Racing one has two parts. If you look at http://www.speedstate.com/Hyundai_Section/...ort_shift2.html in the first pic, both parts which are labeled 'unclip' are the two parts of the short shifter, one controls the forward/back movement, and the other piece has the gear knob attached.

Hope that made some kind of sense

If memory serves, the MHP unit only shortens the length of the shaft...it doesn't have the two pieces that the SR unit has.

Reid is right-on!

I have the MHP and it only replaces the long (fore and aft) shifter. It doesn't change the left - right movement at all.

If it doesn't change the left - right movement at all won't the shifter hit it when you shift gears? I have a SR short shift and its what the car needed from the get go. If you don't have this I HIGHLY recommend it. wink.gif

I have the short shifter, and I was pissed that it didn't come with the second part. But I can tell a huge difference, and you don't have to move the stick left or right when shifting. Basically it's pull down, push up, pull down and your in fourth already. It works beautifully. No side movement required. Only from fourth to fifth you need a little movement to the right.

Not worth changing.
