^WHS.... kind of

Voltage hurts, amps kill is a commonly understood dumbed down version. Even as low as .2 amps can kill or .05 amps across the heart, can stop or start it...like a defib. Though a defib uses joules, or energy, which is amps over time with resistance and voltage involved. A good illustration is to think of it compared to water. If 100 gallons of water bucket was dumped on you in about 3 seconds, you would be soaked, but if 100 gal of water was sprayed on you over 1 mins at whatever psi that was, it might hurt, but you would only get so wet. Voltage is like psi and current is like volume, and it doesn't take many amps to kill. Electricity is such an interesting phenomenon though, and can be quite unpredictable. It can travel directly through your heart and kill you, or go right around it and you could be fine, much like lightnening and it branches as it arcs. I can guarantee if 45 amps went through your heart, it wouldn't be working right now. But you might want to get it checked out as T99 said.

dude, you need to get your heart monitored, and possibly a CAT scan of your head. you cooked yourself on the inside. you may have lesions and scarring occurring right now, that may affect you forever. have a doctor check you out. seriously.

I did and went fishing.

The welder i use is 16Amp (round socket plug, like they use on building sites) (i didn't get a shock from the welder in use, it was from falling down and thermals inside the case touching on the case and shocking me..

Lucky for me.. fact they shocked together.. probabily saved my life meaning the main breakers blowed soon after the shock.

Any shock short or long sucks balls.

Try one leg of 480V to ground. If you can get up off the floor you usually will be OK.
