Whats the dumbest thing you saw or found that the last owner did to the car? This should be a fun conversation.

The inside of my doors had a ghetto patchwork of masking tape ILO the plastic sealing sheet

Various money under seats and carpets

A spark plug ILO a sump plug

Home made spark plug wires

Oh mate I can't even remember all of them. I find it's mostly due to ignorance, not sneaky mechanics being cheap.

My 94 Toyota I picked up in September

1) Sunflower seeds/shells completely covering the rear floor behind and under the bench seat, you could not see the carpet at all, minimum debris thickness was 1 inch.

2) Fan shroud cut down the center at the top, perhaps to remove the without removing the radiator first.

3) 2 studs missing from the exhaust manifold.

4) 3 nuts hold the end of the exhaust manifold and beginning of the exhaust pipe together. 1 was tight, 1 was halfway off the stud, the 3rd was just not there.

The previous owner cut the stock radiator harness to have it hooked up to a toggle switch located near the e-brake. Such a dumb ass.

My Colt had the fuel pump wired directly to the ignition switch. No fuse, no relay. I found out when my ignition switch burned out. Also, the radiator fans were wired from the battery to a switch. Again, no fuse or relay. One day, I tried to turn the switch off and burned my fingers. Switch was that hot.
