Will they become so rare at some point that only a very small amount of them will be on the roads? If that happens then I assume that replacement parts will be very expensive. They are now 16 years old so when does Hyundai officially stop making parts for a car that old? Does anybody know if they are still pretty popular in Korea?

It is not 16 years… they are 20 years and for now everything is available here in Europe. In time they will stop to produce some parts but mechanical parts (so you can maintain your car) will certainly be produced another 10+ years
Prices might go up as more and more of the cars come off the roads but if many of them end up in a scrap yard somewhere, then parts will become used versus new that some distributor stocks up on.

They're already pretty rare, at least the RD1's. I used to check Craigslist and they are extremely hard to find. If you do find one, it isn't taken care of very well. RD2's are still pretty common, but again, beat up.
