Default How do technical service bulletins work?

This is my first brand new car ever, so I was wondering when a technical service bulletin comes out for something thats wrong, are there any hidden fees I should be aware of when taking the car to the dealer? If they disagnose the problem to be what the TSBs apply to, then it is free under warranty right?

Where do you go to see if there are any TSB's for your car, or do dealers call you automatically when one comes out?

manufactures/dealership are only required to fix government mandated "recalls". They are only enforced when the safety of the driver/vehicle is at risk

"TSB's" are common causes of failure and proper repair procedures in products that get over looked before leaving the factory. Non safety related problems. Problems that may not been seen until a few years after production

TSB's are mainly for shops and techs. There are updated procedures and parts to assure the "original" problem does not reoccur.

But whatever happens, you bought a brand new hyundai 10yr/100,000mi warranty if i'm not mistaken. Any failure that isn't a wearable item will be fixed at no cost

hope that helped

TSBs should be transparent to you the car owner while the car is under warranty, unless your dealer really stinks. Hyundaitechinfo is where I go to find Hyundai TSBs. Alldata for other brands of cars. Hyundaitechinfo is free, alldata is not.
