How the bridges where you live?

The bridges here in upstate NY are horrible! So many of them are falling apart or there's massive potholes and craters as you drive over them.

We're standing up for your safety on the roads especially on one of the busiest travel weekend of the year.
Right now, Congress is trying to figure out how to pay to repair deteriorating bridges in Rochester and across the country but it could mean higher gas prices.
The Federal Highway Administration considers one out of every nine bridges in the U.S. structurally deficient. That means it needs significant repairs or replacement. With federal highway funds nearly depleted, Congress is considering raising the gas tax.
Representative James Renacci of Ohio said, “It amounts to a little bit less than $3 a year per person, the average driver, and it gives us until 2016 to come up with a long term solution."
Representative John Mica of Florida said, “Then you have almost a million cars a year going to alternative fuels or some fuels that are paying nothing."

They're fine here, as I recall.
The biggest issue is the influx of Californians and northerners. Since the recession, Texas cities are growing faster than the highway systems can keep up with. It's either under construction to make it bigger, or horribly backed up during rush-hour. Granted, it's not as bad as LA or other places, but it never used to be as bad.

The bridges are old but mostly sound, and we are awash with money for repairing infrastructure. Unfortunately fools elect fools and we are spending our infrastructure money on B.S. like:

I inspected bridges at my last job, the highway bridges are mostly fine but a lot of the old bridges on local roads are dangerous. I had to red flag a fair number of them.

There's 2 in my area getting complete overhauls. You know the whole thing where they build a second set of bridges so they can repair the first ones then tear down the set they just made when they're done.... Right. Well at least it keeps traffic flowing smoothly.
